Amy and Tyler’s June 2nd wedding was simply beautiful. The hashtag, “#howeaboutawedding” was used throughout their engagement and wedding; it couldn’t have been a more perfect one to use. It wasn’t JUST a wedding. It was unique, beautiful, and the couple couldn’t have been calmer throughout the day.
Amy and her gorgeous bridesmaids chose to get ready at their venue, The Barn at Crystal Springs Farm, in Franklin, Indiana. This venue was something out of a dream. Not one person that arrived to the barn that day wasn’t shocked at how beautiful it was. They chose simple rustic décor that matched the theme of their wedding and didn’t take away from the natural beauty of the barn.
While the girls sipped mimosas and got ready for pictures, Amy remained relaxed and calm throughout. She was beaming with excitement and it was clear that she was more than ready to walk down the aisle and marry the love of her life. The morning flew past and soon enough, it was time for the first look of Amy in her gown. She came down from the balcony of the barn to surprise her bridesmaids. From head to toe, Amy was perfection. The moment her bridesmaids saw her, they felt the same way. Following that reveal (where her sweet flower girl squealed with excitement), the next up was her Dad. From the moment he walked in, you could tell he was trying to hold it together. He was able to for a few minutes before he broke away and had to gather himself. There was not a dry eye in the barn at that moment, and I know it’s something Amy will treasure forever. Tyler and Amy also chose to do a first look before the ceremony. Amy walked outside to meet him and as we all stood back to watch, you could see his smile from a mile away when he saw her for the first time.
Amy, Tyler and Cat with Cat Satre Photography took pictures at the venue before heading over to the ceremony. While it was a hot June day, they found places to take pictures with some breeze and shade, and lots of water was consumed! The most memorable picture opportunity from that afternoon was when Tux, their cat, showed up in his bow tie for some pictures. It wasn’t necessarily easily, but as Amy said “totally worth it” to have had those pictures done. They will always be so special to Amy and Tyler.
The pictures were done and everyone was ready to head to the church, but not until they had a quick stop at Mrs. Curl’s in downtown Greenwood. Amy and Tyler both love ice cream, so why not snap a few pictures at a fun parlor? It served as a nice treat on a hot day, and they received lots of honks from cars driving by as they posed for some fun pictures.
Amy and Tyler chose to get married at her hometown church, Greenwood United Methodist Church. It was so lovely to see her share such a special day with her family and congregation. The church has a stained glass window that Amy and Tyler shared their vows in front of; it made for a beautiful backdrop. As mentioned before, they chose some unique aspects to include in their wedding. One being their guest book. As people entered the church, instead of signing a typical guest book, Amy and Tyler left out a Bible. Each person highlighted their favorite verse and then wrote their names next to it. Their guestbook won’t be something that is packed away with wedding memories; I know this Bible will be out in their home and be used often.
After the “I do’s” were said, everyone headed back to The Barn at Crystal Springs Farm for the reception! Cocktail hour was held outside, and then followed the bridal party introductions, cake cutting, first dances, and speeches. The barn lights twinkled as everyone ate dinner from City Barbecue and treated themselves to mini cupcakes from Small Cakes. The party really got started when a family tradition broke out that included polka dancing and shots of Crown Royal and Schnapps! It was hysterical to watch, and most everyone got a chance to dance with either Amy or Tyler…and take a shot afterwards! The night was filled with dancing, people playing corn hole
outside, and lots of laughter. Amy and Tyler, as well as their families and guests, were incredible to work with, and we feel so honored that we got to be a part of their day
The night ended with a sparkler send off. But again, a unique twist was included with a midnight cap of Long’s doughnuts served with milk, and a family member even brought some mini hamburgers from White Castle for a late night treat.
Amy and Tyler, we wish you all the happiness in the world! Your wedding was a fairy tale, and we know that you will live happily ever after!
